Comments: This is a good low budget spot light. It is not particularly bright nor is it the most even lamp. Even if a pro is aligning it. It is also difficult to keep the light smooth and steady because it is not balanced and doesnt have great bearings. This is tungsten lamp in the 3200 color temp range and that must also be considered. It will be much warmer and complimentary to skin tones without gel. But if using saturated colors the punch isnt really there. If more money is available an arc source with color correction would be a wiser choice for any venue doing musicals or events on a semi regular or regular basis. If you have an elementary or middle school program this is adequate.

Lamp Changing - Posted by: Elikia on 7/6/2011
Hi, silly question but how do you change the lamp in this instrument? I have just started working with one and am having trouble finding a way of releasing the lamp to change it out.
Thanks!

Hello. On the Altman Comet, the lamp slides under 2 "fingers" that are stailless steel and is held in place against the frame. You can use the lever arm to eject it out. ( There should be an open slot to the left of the lamp ) The lamp will now be free. Pull the ceramic base off and replace the lamp and insert it back. If you have further questions, please give us a call. Thank you.
