GX Series amplifiers are ideal for professional entertainers who require maximum performance and portability on a limited budget. GX amplifiers deliver just the right amount of power to the most popular speakers used by entertainers. Typically, loudspeaker manufacturers recommend an amplifier with power output equal to the speaker's Program (Music) Power rating or two times (2 x) the Continuous (RMS) Power rating. The GX3 is ideal for speakers in the 300 watt (Program) range, while the GX5 provides full performance for 500 watt (Program) speakers.

The GX7 outputs 725 watts into an 8 ohm load. Owners of popular 4 ohm loudspeakers (such as dual-woofer, two-way models) will find the 700 watt (4 ohm) power of the GX5 an ideal match while the GX7's 1000 watts will very capably power many of today's popular subwoofers or two typical 8 ohm speakers per channel.

can u please explain how i connect 2 gx7s together, i want to use 1 to power 2 top cabs and 1 to power 2 bass bins.

Hi, You would need to use an electronic crossover to first devide the frequency spectum, thereby routing the frequencies above 100 hertz to the top cabs and below to the bass bins. After that run the amps in either parallel mono mode or bridged mode. Please contact me at 800-925-5776 x2038 to discuss your options.

I have chosen QSC to be my premier choice to power 4 speakers at 8 Ohms each. 2 Tapco 18 subs & 2 peavey 10 inch loud speakers. All at around 400 watt rms each. My question is will gx7 be able to provide these speakers with adequate wattage through a parallel connection. Is it true that all four speakers will drop down to 4 ohms? Will I damage anything with this connection? Will I be able to power these speakers with gx7? And I thank QSC staff for explaining all of your amp products in great and in depth detail.

This amplifier with supply 1000 watts per channel at a 4 ohm rating. When you connect (2) 8 ohm speakers together in parallel your ohm load will drop to 4. Therefore if you connect two 8 ohm speakers together on one channel in parallel each speaker will receive 500 watts using this amplifier. It is suggested that you only connect two 8 ohm speaker per channel with this amp, do not use less than a 4 ohm load with this series. If your speakers are rated at 400 rms this is an acceptable amp to use as the continuous rating on a speaker is the rating at which a speaker can operate on a continuous basis.
