I sing with sound tracks. I need a player that will allow me to hear the music without the voices. Does this player do that?

This player does not have a vocal remover built in. If you have a split track cd you can send the left and right channels to two different channels on the mixer board and then remove the vocals by pulling down the right channel audio. Or if you don't have split track audio cd you can put the Vocopro KC-300 PRO after this cd player and use the vocal remover to pull most of the vocals from a regular cd.

I need a CD player to run sound effects for theatre productions. I may need to have the sound from both CDs playing at the same time, is this possible?

Yes there is a stereo RCA unbalanced output for each side of the dual CD player so you can connect each player to your mixer.
