Q and A

handheld - Posted by: Melissa Middleton on 11/7/2011
I am looking to buy a handheld microphone for soloists at our school, as well as speakers. Would you recommend this or the Shure SM58?

Hello. That is a very good question. For a soloist, the Sennheiser is a little brighter and louder while the Shure is more warm. The Shure is designed for high sound levels and is less prone to feedback. Both have their places and you really can not go wrong. Thank you.

I video events and I need three or four additional mics. Would this model, placed on stands across the stage be satisfactory for musicals, plays, graduations, etc. ???? In the past I have used a shotgun mic, but I don't want to spend another $260 x 3 if i don't have to. I assume these are dynamic mics??

Hello... While the E835 is a great mic, I think a better choice would be something like a Audio Technica PRO37. A handheld dynamic is only designed to pick up 1-2 inches. The AT mics are less than $100 and a condensor. Thank you.
